Committees and Groups
Bethel has many different groups for adults to join. Why not consider joining one today? For more information, please contact the church office at (812) 328-2358.
| Women's Guild | This fine group of women do a fantastic job of helping with various things at the church. They do dinners for funerals, hold a Lenten Breakfast around Easter, a Ladies' Tea Party, and have a Harvest Sunday in the fall, as well as many other activities. The ladies get together once a month. You are always welcome to attend and please invite a friend. Check the church calendar for the next meeting. (p.s.-There is no meeting in August because the ladies will be using this month to visit shut-ins.) |
| Historical Committee | The Historical Committee has done a fantastic job of chronicling the history of Bethel Church. They publish a calendar each year depicting a different topic, and they also have published books on marriages, funerals, and confirmations performed at Bethel. If you are interested in learning more about Bethel's history or would like to help with a project that the committee's working on, please feel free to join them at one of their monthly meetings. |
| Hands and Feet of Jesus Ministry | This is a ministry where the women of Bethel help be the hands and feet of Jesus by providing meals/food to women who are personally seriously ill or who are taking care of a loved one who is seriously/critically ill. The purpose of this ministry is to temporarily aid in supporting the women of the home by providing a meal/food, but most importantly to reflect the love of Christ by being his hands and feet in our community. |
| Worship Ministry | The Worship ministry consists of a men's choir, women's choir, and mixed choir. They perform several times throughout the year with a break during the summer. If you enjoy singing praises to the Lord, this would be the group for you. |
| Evangelism Ministry | This ministry works on different outreach programs throughout the year. |
| Missions Ministry | Bethel church has many missions that they support throughout the year. Local missions include-North Knox Social Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, Nurses' Fund, Life After Meth, Harbor House and many others. This past Summer, some adult leaders and a group of college students went on a mission trip to Mexico to build a church and were able to get to know and worship with the people down there. It was an uplifting experience for everyone involved. If you like to travel and to help those in need, this would be your ministry. |
| Audio Ministry | This group helps make everyone sound good. They help with sound during regular worship as well as special events, such as weddings, funerals, and various programs throughout the year. |
| Cemetery Ministry | Bethel Church has a lovely cemetery and the people on this committee work hard to bring peace of mind to the families who have loved ones buried in the cemetery. |
| Building and Grounds | This group helps to maintain the upkeep of the church and grounds and keep them looking their best. |
| Scholarship Ministry | Reviews applications from graduating seniors to select those who would qualify for a scholarship from the Bethel Scholarship Fund. |
| Music Liaison Ministry | Their job is to select performers for worship service and other programs. |
| Tape Ministry | This group takes turns delivering audio tapes of each Sunday's service along with that Sunday's bulletin to our members who are shut-ins and are unable to attend regular service. |
